BVI Offshore Law firm announces expansion of HK Team

Harney Westwood & Riegels, one of the oldest and the largest law firms in the British Virgin Islands, providing legal services to world’s top law firms, financial institutions and corporations, announced the expansion of its legal team in Hong Kong jurisdiction. The new persons who joined the HK team are litigation counsel James Noble and banking and finance associate Vanisha Harjani.

James Noble for about two years was a member of the firm’s litigation and insolvency group in the Cayman Islands and the British Virgin Islands. His specialty is shareholder litigation and hedge fund disputes, as well as financial services litigation and insolvency.

Vanisha Harjani specializes in banking and finance transactions, including secured and unsecured lending, asset and acquisition finance and structured finance. She practises both British Virgin Islands law and Cayman Islands law.

Harneys now have 14 principal fee earners and 3 paralegals in Hong Kong, covering all main BVI and Cayman Islands transactional, restructuring and litigation practice areas.

Managing partner of the HK office Jonathan Culshaw commented on this expansion, saying that “Harneys is growing on multiple fronts in Asia and it is essential that we have the right team of lawyers who will help us deliver the rapid response and high level legal advice for which the firm is known.”
